The Graduate Engineering Trainee will support the Operations team at a hyperscale data center located in Cikarang in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of control and monitoring systems. This entry-level role is designed for fresh graduates in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Controls, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline and provides structured, hands-on exposure to BMS, EPMS, PLC/SCADA interfaces, metering, alarms, field instrumentation, preventive maintenance, incident response, documentation, and continuous improvement in a mission-critical data center environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronic Engineering (Control & Automation), Mechatronics Engineering, Physics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 years of relevant internship, cooperative education, laboratory, or project experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in microcontrollers, instrumentation, measurement systems, process control, and industrial automation.
  • Basic understanding of sensors and transmitters, including temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, and power monitoring devices.
  • Familiar with PLC, DDC, RTU, HMI, or SCADA platforms through academic projects, internships, or practical training.
  • Familiar with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, OPC-UA, SNMP, MQTT, or other automation communication standards.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, control diagrams, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, cooling plants, power systems, UPS, generators, and critical facility infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Python, SQL, Power BI, data analytics, or Industrial IoT technologies is a plus.
  • Internship experience related to industrial automation, instrumentation, electrical systems, HVAC controls, Building Management Systems (BMS), or Industrial IoT is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, PLC programming, or automation-related academic projects is an advantage.
  • Participation in engineering competitions, automation projects, robotics teams, or research activities will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills through academic projects, competitions, internships, research, or extracurricular activities.
  • Able to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia and working English.
  • Willing to work onsite at a hyperscale data center located in Cikarang and, where required by operations, follow standby or on-call arrangements.
  • Support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems within mission-critical data center facilities.
  • Supervise and troubleshoot sensors, PLCs, DDCs, field instruments, and automation systems used for power, cooling, and environmental monitoring.
  • Support BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and other facility monitoring platforms to ensure accurate and reliable operational data.
  • Assist in commissioning, functional testing, loop checking, and system validation activities for new installations and expansion projects.
  • Participate in calibration, inspection, and preventive maintenance activities for instrumentation and control devices.
  • Conduct troubleshooting control system failures, communication issues, alarm abnormalities, and instrumentation faults.
  • Assist in integration activities between BMS, EPMS, PLC, SCADA, DCIM, and other operational technology platforms.
  • Supervise system performance trends and assist in identifying reliability, efficiency, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis (RCA), failure investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Support the development of automation, monitoring, and digitalization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate control system documentation, instrument databases, drawings, and asset records.
  • Assist in review and update P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Operations, Projects, IT, vendors, and contractors to support maintenance and project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, engineering standards, change management processes, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in continuous learning and technical development programs to build expertise in data center critical infrastructure and industrial automation.
