Finite Element Analysis Engineer (FEA Engineer)

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled FEA Engineer to join our growing team in Bandung. The successful candidate will be instrumental in performing detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using CalculiX, supporting critical projects across our Oil & Gas, Biorefinery, and Mining portfolios. This role requires a strong understanding of fundamental mechanics, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to translate complex numerical results into actionable engineering insights.

  • Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Physics Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. 
    • Proven experience in performing Finite Element Analysis. 
    • Demonstrable proficiency and hands-on experience with CalculiX FEA software is essential. 
    • Strong theoretical understanding of solid mechanics, continuum mechanics, material science, and numerical methods for FEA. 
    • Experience with pre-processing (e.g., GMSH, Salome, Cubit) and post-processing tools (e.g., Paraview) commonly used with CalculiX. 
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. 
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. 
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. 
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia. 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.


    • Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves): 

      • Familiarity with other FEA software packages (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS, NASTRAN, OpenFOAM) is a plus. 
      • Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360). 
      • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Biorefinery, or Mining sectors. 
      • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards. 

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Perform advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on a variety of components and systems using CalculiX. 
      • Develop and refine FEA models, including geometry preparation, meshing (structural and thermal), material property definition, boundary conditions, and load application. 
      • Conduct a range of analyses, including but not limited to:
        • Static structural analysis
        • Linear and non-linear analysis
        • Contact analysis
        • Thermal analysis
        • Fatigue analysis
      • Interpret and analyze FEA results to identify critical areas, predict performance, and assess structural integrity and safety margins. 
      • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations summarizing analysis methodologies, results, and recommendations for internal teams and external clients. 
      • Collaborate closely with design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide FEA-driven insights for design optimization, troubleshooting, and validation. 
      • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of FEA simulations through verification and validation processes. 
      • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in FEA techniques, CalculiX capabilities, and industry best practices.
